On March 19 local time, the House of Representatives of the Thai Parliament held a meeting to vote for a new Prime Minister. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, won the support of more than half of the parliamentarians and was re-elected as the 33rd Prime Minister of Thailand.
As a partner country of BRICS, the smooth formation of Thailand's new government has injected new impetus and positive expectations into the stable development of China-Thailand comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and into multilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation under the BRICS framework.
China and Thailand are as close as one family with closely connected cultures. For a long time, the two countries have enjoyed frequent interactions and fruitful results in culture, education, tourism, art and other fields: Chinese language education is widely popularized, the "Happy Chinese New Year" event is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, high-quality art performances are exchanged between the two sides, and cross-border tourism and cultural exchanges continue to recover, laying a solid public foundation for China-Thailand friendship.
Recently, the Editor-in-Chief of BRICS Countries Magazine and BRICS Interview had a cordial meeting with H.E. Mr. Han Chan Cai, Ambassador of Thailand to China, and took a group photo. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the BRICS Plus partner country mechanism, China-Thailand cultural exchanges, practical media cooperation, and mutual learning among civilizations. Both sides agreed to further deepen people-to-people interactions, expand non-governmental exchanges, and jointly elevate the traditional "China-Thailand family" friendship to a new level in the new era.
Standing at a new historical starting point and relying on the advantages of the BRICS partner country mechanism, China-Thailand cultural exchanges are expected to embrace new opportunities: deepen mutual learning on intangible cultural heritage, promote cooperation in digital cultural and creative industries and tourism integration, boost youth people-to-people exchanges, expand multilateral dialogue among civilizations, and make people-to-people bonds warmer and cooperation outcomes more effective.
BRICS Interview will continue to follow the progress of China-Thailand friendly development, focus on mutual learning among civilizations and people-to-people exchanges, assist the two countries in moving forward hand in hand on the new journey, inject more cultural impetus into the high-quality development of BRICS cooperation, and contribute to building a closer China-Thailand community with a shared future.
